Verizon, a telecommunication giant, based in US, is testing the newly built 5G technology with the help of a few tech partners. The company is testing the new generation of high speed wireless data transfer with these partners. The test span of the wireless data transfer technology includes around 11 markets in US. These 11 markets are Ann Arbor (MI), Atlanta (GA), Bernardsville (NJ), Brockton (MA), Dallas (TX), Denver (CO), Houston (TX), Miami (FL), Sacramento (CA), Seattle (WA), and Washington, D.C.
Among these 11 cities five of the cities have already planned to test 5G with the customers as soon as Q2 later this year. For the purpose of testing and to provide technical assistance Verizon has paired up with the leading companies like Ericsson, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung etc,.
Roger Gurnani, Vice President and Chief Information and Technology architect, Verizon, said, “We are pleased about the progress made with partners like Samsung on advancing 5G technology commercially, delivering 5G to these pilot customers is an important step in assessing the business model and customer experience for delivering wireless broadband via 5G.”
Qualcomm has announced earlier this week about its fastest gigabit modem for mobile devices, even though the 5G network has not come into use yet.
In today’s world of budding generations of technology, the latest and fastest generation of wireless data transferring technology is about to set its foot in the future technological world, and is probably expected to rule the digital world as soon as possible, for 5G to be used as a regular network it might take upto one pr two year’s time.
